Horse & Rider Treatment

Combined therapy for precision, power, and peak performance.

With every stride, horse and rider influence one another. Peak performance depends on balance, both in the horse and the rider. At The Balanced Duo, each partner is assessed individually: horses through equine bodywork, a detailed evaluation of the horse’s balance, and muscle function. The rider posture assessment focuses on rider biomechanics through alignment, posture, and movement assessments.

Any restriction, tension, or imbalance in horse or rider can reduce speed, precision, and agility in competition. By combining targeted rider treatments with advanced equine bodywork, this approach improves strength, recovery, and responsiveness.

The result is genuine horse and rider alignment, a seamless partnership where horse and rider move as one. This method of combined horse and rider therapy gives competitive athletes the edge: sharper performance, clearer communication, and lasting results in the arena.

Equine Works

Equine bodywork that restores balance and unlocks performance

Before Renae starts any treatment, every horse is individually assessed to uncover areas of tension, restriction, or imbalance that may be limiting comfort, movement, or performance. Through equine bodywork and equine muscle release therapy, each treatment is tailored to support recovery, restore mobility, and optimise overall wellbeing.

For competitive riders, this can mean sharper performance, faster recovery, and greater alignment between horse and rider. For horse owners, it ensures long-term comfort, soundness, and a happier, more responsive partner.

Treatments are tailored to your horse’s individual needs, with the aim of restoring balance, releasing restrictions, and optimising wellbeing. The result is a horse that moves more comfortably, feels more responsive, and is better able to perform at its full potential whether at competition level or simply enjoying the ride.

Rider Therapies

Unlocking connection through rider alignment and body awareness

Your posture, movement patterns, and physical imbalances don’t just affect you, they directly influence how your horse moves. Through tailored rider posture assessment and a focus on rider biomechanics, each session is designed to improve alignment, strength, and body awareness, both in and out of the saddle.

For competitive riders, this means sharper aids, better balance, and greater harmony in performance. For horse owners, it supports comfort, confidence, and a stronger connection with your horse.

By addressing restrictions and restoring balance, rider therapy enhances your effectiveness while supporting your horse’s comfort and wellbeing. When paired with equine bodywork and equine muscle release therapy, the result is genuine horse and rider alignment.

"We had Renae out today for the first time to see our boy who has had a few issues over the last few months that has seen some time off and a need for a reset. Renae has 100% helped his overall wellbeing and how he is feeling - you could see how it was helping him as she went through her treatment with him. It was really amazing to watch how he responded and I can’t wait to get Renae back to help with our boy again but just as importantly his rider too! Happy horse, happy rider! Happy Mum too."

Renae from Balanced Duo has worked with both my mares consistently over a period of months.

My quarter horse mare had become very tense and constrained in her movement from tail to poll after artificial insemination. Renae’s body work both before and after every scanning resulted in my mare being

profoundly more comfortable, free of tension from instinctively bracing, and quick to recover from the process. The look of relief in my mare’s eyes after these sessions was all I needed to see.

My second mare, a large 17h plus warmblood, came to me with an unknown training history. She was anxious, hyper reactive and did not allow being touched much past her head. Over a series of sessions with Renae working patiently and systematically over this mare (initially with a training stick at arm’s length) we now have a completely different horse!

Under Renae’s hands she has had deep tension released from all over her body. She now has a soft eye and a far more willing attitude. Her true temperament and personality can now shine through.

I would have given up on this mare if I had not had access to Renae’s expert touch and firm but patient willingness to guide the horse to self-healing.

I will again partner with Renae so that I have happier, more at ease broodmares ready to become great Mums. My horses and I are very

grateful for all our time together and I have no hesitation in recommending her magic hands!
